Sammanväva/ Interweave
Interweave shows how oral stories be remembered and live on
through us in our everyday lives. The project pays homage to
early mythology and vernacular storytelling from Nordic, British,
Celtic, Chinese, Swedish, and ancient Greek traditions.
The Norns were goddesses who spun the thread of life and shaped human destiny; Arachne was challenged to a weaving competition and transformed into a spider; Cailleachen was a divine hag associated with the creation of landscapes and weather, and the white snake is a legend about a romance between a man and a snake. The work pays tribute to these myths of ancient and often underestimated women by returning to them collectively.
Interweave was one of ten artworks in the app Vävda rum Swedens biggest exhibition with virtual public art. The augmented
reality app was initiated by Riksörbundet Sveriges Konstföreningar and was developed together with Untold Garden.

The Glitch Witch, created by Rut Karin Zettergren.
The Glitch Witch is a skilled alchemist, capable of extracting history from the stones of the earth and distilling it into a potent ink. She creates a map of the universe, using it to sew costumes for a healing dance that resurrects the medicinal herbs of wise women. With a mastery of both technology and the earth, The Glitch Witch transforms machines of war and surveillance into tools of love and healing, weaving a cocoon of weeds around them to create a space of rest and a new reality.

Monocrone Meg created by Choterina Freer.
Monocrone Meg is a comet-sized giantess, born from the rocks and the sea, and remembered only by the ancient salmon. As a great creator goddess, she shapes the world by dropping rocks from her pockets to form mountains and islands and smashing them with her hammer to set them in place. She is a guardian of wells, cows, wolves, and the natural world, and her power as a comet represents both creation and destruction, seen throughout the world in standing stones and winter storms.
